What Is the Hiring Process for JP Morgan Chase?

Online Application

The online application for JP Morgan Chase will require you to provide information regarding your previous employment, education, and residential history information. “Super Day”

This phase of the recruitment process will not apply to all applicants; not all departments participate in the Super Day. However, if you are asked to participate in Super Day, this will be your final round of interviews. Super Day will consist of 3-5 one-on-one interviews with various representatives of JP Morgan Chase. These interviews will take place over a period of several hours.

Pre-Employment Checks

Before an applicant can officially begin employment with JP Morgan Chase, they will need to complete a series of pre-employment checks. Situational Judgment Assessment (SJT)

The situational judgment assessment is given during the initial application process. This test gives the test-taker a series of situations they would potentially encounter in the role for which they are applying. Each scenario given will ask you to choose the best reaction from a set of given responses by rating each of the given responses. Logical Reasoning Assessment

The logical reasoning assessment given during the JP Morgan Chase hiring process primarily tests for an applicant’s ability to recognize and extend patterns. Each question will present the test-taker with a series of numbers, shapes, or sets of shapes. The test-taker will then be asked to determine from given answer choices which number, shape, or set of shapes should come next in the series.

Verbal Reasoning Assessment

The JP Morgan Chase verbal reasoning assessment presents several short passages, each of which is followed by an inferred statement. The test-taker’s task is to determine whether the inferred statement is true, false, or if the information provided is not sufficient to make that determination. Ultimately, this exam tests for an applicant’s ability to draw evidence-based conclusions from written information.

Numerical Reasoning Assessment

The numerical reasoning test applicants encounter will assess their ability to make logical conclusions based on numerical data. Questions may consist of tables, charts, or graphs, which the test-taker must analyze and interpret in order to determine which of the given conclusions is most strongly supported by the data.  These questions will require applicants to perform basic mathematical operations, determine ratios, and calculate percentages. Coding Test

If applying for a software or network engineering position with JP Morgan Chase, applicants will also be required to take a coding test. This assessment consists of 10 multiple choice questions, which will test the test-taker’s aptitude for the role and their technical knowledge. Ultimately, this exam assesses an applicant’s knowledge of data structure. More complex questions will generally be reserved for in-person interviews.
