What Is Glencore’s Recruitment Process?
Online Application
The first step in the recruiting process is the online application. Candidates will submit a CV and cover letter as well as answer some basic employment questions. There will be data in the form of graphs, tables, and datasets that you will have to analyze and interpret. You will then need to answer questions about what you have seen. All questions cover basic math skills, nothing advanced, and this test is timed at roughly one minute per question.
Verbal Reasoning – The verbal reasoning test will assess your ability to interpret written information. You will receive text passages of roughly 300 words to read and understand; then, you will need to answer questions based on what you have read. These questions will be multiple-choice, and you will have roughly one to two minutes to answer each question.
Situational Judgment Test (SJT) – The situational judgment test assesses how you respond to different workplace situations. You will receive a hypothetical scenario, and you will need to respond with what your reaction would be. The purpose of this test is to gauge your behavior in professional situations, understand your thinking, and learn more about your personality. Though you should be honest in your responses, keep the company’s values and core beliefs in mind while taking this test.
Glencore’s Assessment Center
The assessment center is the last stage of the hiring process. During this time, multiple candidates will come onsite for a day to complete group exercises and individual tasks. During the group exercises, the staff is looking to see how well you work in a team and communicate with others. Be sure always to be courteous and professional while onsite.
One task you may encounter is an e-tray exercise. The hiring manager will give you a brief and expect you to read and analyze the information before presenting your findings to the hiring team. Confidence during this presentation is essential. You must communicate your ideas effectively and show senior management why you are the best person for the job.

Site Visit
