Application Process

To apply with AIG, start on their website. They have job opportunities listed by country, or you can search by the job title. You will need to create an online profile that includes your job experience and any skills you may have, such as being multilingual. You will receive a confirmation email once your application has been sent. Due to a high volume of applicants, you may not hear anything if your application is rejected. If your application is a good match for the job listing, you will be contacted by a recruiter to discuss what comes next.

 

AIG’s Psychometric Tests

Like most companies these days, AIG makes use of online assessment tests to help narrow the field of job candidates. AIG uses assessment tests designed by Test Partnerships. Depending on the position you are in consideration for, some of the tests you may encounter include:

  • Numerical Reasoning Test Since so much of working in insurance involves numbers, you may be given a numerical reasoning test to test your skill with mathematical concepts. This test is 15 questions, and you will have 15 minutes to complete it.
  • Verbal Reasoning Test To determine how well you can understand written or verbal directions, a verbal reasoning test is often given. You will have several short passages to read, followed by questions about the information in the paragraphs. This multiple-choice test is 20 questions, and you will have 15 minutes to complete it.
  • Inductive Reasoning Test This will measure your ability to think logically using non-verbal information. You will be given patterns to interpret and must complete each sequence. You will have 15 minutes to complete the 15 questions on this multiple-choice test.
  • Situational Judgment Test Situational judgment tests are a common pre-employment exam. They are used to determine how you will handle different work-related scenarios.

 

AIG’s Interview

The interview process will start with a screening interview either online or via telephone. This interview is used to get more information on your work-history, clarify any questions the recruiter might have about your resume, and also give you a chance to ask any questions you have about the position. If this interview goes well, you will be contacted to schedule an in-person interview. This interview may be one on one with the hiring manager or may include several members of the team. The focus of this interview is behavioral, to determine your work-style. Using the STAR method (situation, task, action, response) will help you answer their questions in detail.

 

Superday

Students interviewing for internships with AIG may be invited to attend a Superday. This will consist of a series of interviews, along with the chance to meet management. You will be given several interviews back to back with different members of the management team.

 

How to Prepare for AIG’s Assessments?

There is a lot of competition when applying for a position with AIG. You will want to score as well as possible on the assessment tests to ensure you make it to the interviews. Brushing up on skills you may be a little rusty on will benefit you. Practice your reading comprehension by doing word puzzles. You can strengthen your logical reasoning skills with logic puzzles.
