What Is State Farm’s Hiring Process?
The best way to apply for a position at State Farm is to go to their website and set up an RPX Portal Profile. You will be asked to apply for specific positions, transmit paperwork, take assessments, and if relevant, upload a business plan all through this portal.
Whether you were recruited to apply for a position, or you apply through the website, you can expect the hiring process to take at least three weeks, and possibly months. You will have to take a number of assessments, and may have multiple interviews.
The first step in the process is a screening interview. You may meet with an HR representative, or you might have your interview over the internet using interviewing technology. During this interview, you will be asked questions about your specific skills and experience as they relate to the position for which you are applying.
State Farm Screening Assessments
You may have to take multiple assessments, determined by the position you are interested in. All applicants will take the State Farm PI Cognitive Assessment (PICA). For the PI Cognitive Assessment, you are given 12 minutes to answer 50 questions which measure your ability to learn and adapt in the working environment. You may also take an SJT, as you are asked to reason through different potential workplace scenarios. Other assessments include a language proficiency test, data entry tests (to test for speed and accuracy), and Microsoft and Excel tests (to determine your level of proficiency with each software).
The State Farm psychometric test is also known as the KSAO assessment (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics).
Hiring Manager Interview
The next phase in the process is an interview with a hiring manager, and possibly other members of the team with whom you may be working. You can expect to be asked questions about your prior work experience and how it relates to the position you desire at State Farm. You may also be asked about what you know about State Farm, and to explain how you will be an asset to the company. At this interview, you will be given more details about the job and the work environment. This is also an opportunity for you to ask questions you have about the company, the job, and the work environment.
