What Is Salling Group?

With a market share of 34.9%, Salling Group is Denmark’s largest retailer. Originally founded in 1906 by Ferdinand Salling, his son Herman Salling took over the company in 1953 and changed the direction of the company by opening Føtex through Jysk Supermarked. Føtex department store was the first of its kind in Denmark. In 1964 Jysk Supermarket, merged with the A.P Moller-Maersk Group to form Dansk Supermarked A/S, the name was changed to Salling Group in 2018. With the exception of the Netto chain, which has locations in Sweden, Germany, and Poland, all stores owned by the Stalling Group operate exclusively in Denmark. Salling group has a workforce of 53,000 employed in a variety of positions, from IT, procurement, supply chain, human resources, finance, and law, as well as positions in the stores as cashiers or store management. Application

Salling group job listings can be found online, with jobs separated on the website by corporate positions and in-store positions. You can search within these categories by country, region, or store. To apply, you will need to create a profile on the website’s “Candidate Cockpit.” This allows you to save searches and receive alerts. After submitting your application, you will receive an email notifying you that your application has been received. If your application grabs the attention of the recruiting team, you will be notified within three weeks of the next steps to take.

 

Salling Group’s Online Tests

Stalling Group relies on online assessment tests to help it narrow the field to the best possible candidates. If your application is deemed suitable, you will be invited to take their online assessments to help them decide if you should be brought in for an interview. The assessments tests you can expect when applying with Stalling Group are:

  • PLI (PILI) Test The Professional Learning Indicator is a cognitive test that uses a combination of test styles to measure your ability to absorb information and your reasoning skills. In no particular order, this test will measure your logical, verbal, and numerical reasoning skills. These questions on this test are all multiple choice. You will have about 12 minutes to answer all 50 questions.
  • Personal Profile Analysis – This is a psychometric test used to show which of your character traits are dominant, and how closely you fit their ideal employee profile. Each role within the company will have a different profile, based on the character traits they find lead to the employees with the most success in that job. This multiple-choice test measures Dominance, Influence, Steadiness, and Compliance.

 

Interview

The interview is the final step in the Salling hiring process. The interview will be competency-based and will question your motivations for working for Salling Group, your past work history, and your relevant skills. Answering interview questions using the STAR method is a great way to give a thorough answer, and help the management team get to know you and understand your work ethic. Any feedback the interviewer has to give you about the results of the online assessments will be given to you at the time of the interview. The interview usually lasts about an hour.

 

How to Prepare for Salling Group’s Online Assessment Tests?

The online assessment tests can seem like the most intimidating part of the job-hunting process. If you know what to expect, and take time to prepare yourself, they don’t have to be. Knowledge of the company and its culture and values is an important part of test preparation.
