Mitratech’s Employment Tests

Like many companies, Mitratech uses assessment tests as part of their talent seeking process. These tests are made up of a reasoning assessment to help show your critical thinking skills, and a personality test to see how well you fit in with the team you have applied with.

 

CCAT

The CCAT, Criteria Cognitive Assessment Test is a 50-question multiple choice exam that measures your mental abilities, to make sure you can think critically, and problem solve. The questions focus on three different areas.

  • Verbal Skills – Demonstrating communication skills from the outset is very important. These questions will focus on your ability to use words in their proper context, understand sentences, and your vocabulary.
  • Math and Logic – Your proficiency with numbers will be tested using algebra, word problems, and proportions. Calculators are not permitted when you take the CCAT.
  • Spatial Reasoning – The test measures your abstract thinking skills by including spatial reasoning questions. You will need to be able to detect patterns, manipulate shapes, and identify things that may be out of place.

The CCAT also measures your ability to function under stress. You will have only 15 minutes to complete the test.

 

Personality Test

The personality test is used to ensure that a candidate is a good fit for the company, before extending an invitation to interview. This questionnaire will also show your work style, your integrity, and your team working abilities.

 

Interviews

You may be asked to participate in several interviews before a decision regarding hiring is made. These interviews may be done over the phone, through an online platform like Zoom, or in-person. You will most likely be given a combination of these methods during this process. The in-person interviews may be done one-on-one with a single hiring manager, or as a panel.

 

How to Prepare for Mitratech’s CCAT Test?

The CCAT can be intimidating because of the number of questions, and the brief time limit. You can practice ahead of time so you can focus on the questions, and not on the timer. Crossword puzzles can help you sharpen your vocabulary and working with puzzles can help your critical thinking skills. There are also apps designed to help improve brain function, and these can help you feel more prepared as well.

If you are dreading the math portion of the test, but you know you have the verbal skills portion in the bag, do not let this be a roadblock. Do your best to make an educated guess on questions you are not certain of, so you can get to more of the questions you know you can answer correctly. Speed on the CCAT is important, and you will not be penalized for wrong answers.

The personality test comes with its own set of challenges. There are no wrong answers, but there are preferred combinations of answers. Many people make the mistake of trying to pick the answers they think are the ones the company wants to see. This can lead to an unbalanced test, and results that show you are a bad match for the company. Be honest in your answers instead. Think of everything from a professional perspective, and you will have no problems.

Do not allow the tests to be the reason you do not make it through the hiring process. Practice, and get yourself in the right mindset. You will see that pre-employment assessments are nothing to worry about, and you will be on your way to receiving a job offer.
