What Is Humana’s Recruitment Process?

Application

Submit your Humana application through their website. Search through the available positions to find the job and the location that seems like the right fit. Fill out the form, then upload your resume and cover letter. You will receive a confirmation email, so you know if your application went through successfully. The application form will only take about 15 minutes to complete.

Humana’s Psychometric Tests

Humana uses some assessment tests in its hiring process. These are used as a tool to make sure candidates really do have the right abilities to perform their job functions. These tests will be a mix of personality and skills tests and will vary based on the position you applied for.

  • Situational Judgment Test The SJT test will show the hiring team how you respond to common workplace conflicts. You will be presented with several scenarios that are common to your desired job. You will need to pick the solution that you feel will be the most effective.
  • Personality Test The personality test will measure two things. It will help define your dominant personality traits and will demonstrate how well you empathize with others. There will be two types of questions. On one set you will pick the statement that most closely describes you and rank your responses. For other questions you will be shown pictures of people and will need to predict how they will respond emotionally in different situations.
  • Microsoft Word/Excel – Many positions require a good understanding of how to make spreadsheets in Excel, and proficiency in Word. This test will have you use both programs to demonstrate how well you can work with these programs.
  • Typing Test – During this test you will need to demonstrate both speed and accuracy while typing.
  • Call Center Assessment – Working in a call center requires good communication skills, and the ability to think on your feet so you can help a high volume of callers. Similar to s situational judgment test, you will be given a situation, and will need to pick the best response.

Interviews

With all the changes in technology, as well as a trend of having people work remotely, much of the Humana interview process has now moved to an online platform. Your first contact with Human resources will be a screening interview during which you will be given more details about the position and asked questions about your experience and qualifications. Your next interview may be an online interview, during which you will record your responses. You will be given several minutes to formulate and record your answer before it moves on to the next question. Your final interview will be either one on one onsite or conducted through an online platform like zoom. This interview will focus on behavioral questions to help determine how well your personality and work ethic suits the role you applied for.

How to Prepare for Humana’s Assessment?

You can start preparing for the assessment tests by learning as much as you can about Humana. Learning about their mission and corporate culture will help you better envision life as an employee of Humana. This will help your thought process when deciding which answers on the SJT and personality test fit you best.

Practice your hard skills, like typing and working on Excel and word. Even if these are skills you use every day, there is a benefit to practicing them. You may review parts of the program you rarely use and that requires practice for you to be more familiar with them.

The Humana hiring process is streamlined and straightforward. Make sure your skills are sharp so you can quickly make your way through the hiring process, and get the job offer.
